- Three powertrain options: e-hybrid, plug-in e-hybrid and EV
- Claimed range of up to 650km for EV
Jeep has revealed the latest update for the Compass C-SUV, which has been on sale since 2006. It is the brand’s most globally available model, with production and sales of the new version set to begin in Europe before extending outreach to other markets.
Besides a new look that appears sharper and edgier than the current Compass, Jeep says this new model has 55mm additional legroom, larger 34-litre front interior storage compartment, and an increased boot capacity of 45 litres, now reaching up to 550 litres. In the realm of technology, the new infotainment system offers a 10-inch instrument cluster and a 16-inch infotainment system, Level 2 autonomous driving, heads-up display, semi-automatic lane change, and Matrix LED headlights.

In terms of powertrain options, there will be a 145bhp 48V hybrid, 198bhp plug-in hybrid, and three BEV versions, ranging from 216bhp in the front-wheel drive version to 380bhp in the all-wheel drive version. Jeep has introduced a new dedicated and more powerful rear electric motor that provides an additional 49kW of peak power and up to 232Nm torque.
EV charging is also up to the higher standard, with a 160kW DC charger solution offering a 30-minute 20 to 80 per cent charge time, and an on board charger with up to 22kW. The highest range in the BEV lineup is up to 650km. There will be a First Edition version of the Compass that will allow the customers to choose between two powertrains - a 48V e-hybrid with 145bhp or a BEV variant with 216bhp. The BEV features front-wheel drive and a claimed range of 500km.
