May 2025 will bring along a set of new car launches across various spectra. The new month will witness the arrival of a new MPV, refreshed premium hatchback, new iteration of an EV, and an all-new performance hatch. Let us now take a close look at these upcoming launches.
2025 Kia Clavis (Carens facelift)

The set of launches this month will begin with the arrival of the new Clavis. The carmaker has previously revealed that the Clavis is not an update for the current Carens on sale, but will be an addition to the range with a new name. It is scheduled for launch on 8 May.
Updates will arrive in the form of fresh front and rear bumpers, new lighting elements on either ends, new alloy wheels, and LED light bars. Elsewhere, we expect a 360-degree camera, ADAS suite, panoramic sunroof, and a reworked dashboard. Engine options are likely to include the familiar 1.5-litre engines in NA petrol, turbo petrol, and diesel formats, along with manual and automatic transmissions.
Tata Altroz Facelift

Next up is the Altroz in its facelifted avatar, the prices of which will be announced on 22 May. This will be the first significant update for the Maruti Baleno rival since its launch back in January 2020.
The Toyota Glanza and Hyundai i20 rival will get a revised fascia, new front and rear bumpers, tweaked grille, fresh set of alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, LED headlamps, revised upholstery, and more. The same NA petrol, turbo-petrol, CNG, and diesel powertrains, paired with manual and automatic gearboxes are expected to be carried over.
MG Windsor EV Pro

MG Motor India is set to introduce a new variant in the Windsor EV range soon. The biggest highlight of this upcoming derivative will be a larger 50.6kWh battery pack as compared to the 38kWh unit currently on sale.
While the power output will remain unchanged at 134bhp and 200Nm, the range is likely to witness an increase from 331km (MIDC cycle) in the 38kWh unit to 460km (CLTC cycle) in the 50.5kWh unit. Apart from the larger battery, the new Windsor EV variant will get an ADAS suite, which the current iteration lacks.
Volkswagen Golf GTI

The Golf GTI will be Volkswagen’s second CBU offering to be launched in India this year, following hot on the heels of the Tiguan R-Line. Likely to be available in a single, fully-loaded variant, it will be offered in four colourways.
The highlight of this performance hatch will be the 2.0-litre, TSI petrol engine mated with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. This powertrain produces 260bhp and 370Nm, enabling it to sprint from zero to 100kmph in 5.9 seconds. You can read more in detail about the new Golf GTI on our website.
